Minnesota Vikings and Week 3 with Daily Norseman The Buffalo Bills (0-2) are still looking for their first win of the 2018 NFL season after a pair of disappointing losses to open up the season. The road to that first win doesn’t get any easier Sunday http://www.buffalobillsteamonline.com/jerry-hughes-jersey , as the Bills travel to Minneapolis for a showdown with the reigning NFC North champion Minnesota Vikings (1-0-1). Our latest edition of the Buffalo Rumblings Podcast has you covered with everything you need to know to get ready for the game between the Bills and the Vikings. Each week during the regular season, our podcast will feature an in-depth interview with a blogger from the opposing team’s website. This week, co-host John Boccacino was joined by Eric Thompson from the Daily Norseman to dissect this match up of teams heading in opposite directions. Boccacino and co-host Anthony Marino also gave their keys to the game, which had Buffalo opening up as a 16.5 point underdog vs. Minnesota. Hear what our podcast duo had to say about these topics and more.Boccacino and Thompson discussed the perception that Minnesota Vikings fans have of the Bills rebuilding efforts, including their thoughts on the starting debut of rookie quarterback Josh Allen, and the pressure the Vikings feel in a Super Bowl-or-bust season. The two addressed what went wrong for the Vikings in Week 2’s 29-all tie in overtime vs. the Green Bay Packers — where after Minnesota kicker Daniel Carlson missed three field goals, the Vikings went out and inked reliable Dan Bailey to take over the kicking duties — and what led the offense to explode for 22 fourth-quarter points. The two discussed how the Vikings offense matches up with the Bills defense, what Buffalo can do to slow down Minnesota’s dynamic wide receiver tandem of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs (a combined 21 catches for 259 yards and three touchdowns in Week 2!), and what Buffalo needs to do to pull off the upset. One area where Minnesota appears vulnerable is the offensive line. If Buffalo’s pass rush — led by Jerry Hughes, Trent Murphy, Lorenzo Alexander, and a hopefully healthy Shaq Lawson — can get good penetration against the o-line, it will go far in the Bills efforts to slow down Kirk Cousins and the high-flying Minnesota offense. A HUGE area of concern for Bills fans is Allen, who is making his first road start in a hostile atmosphere. Traditionally, rookie quarterbacks have struggled against a Mike Zimmer-coached squad. Boccacino and Thompson also offered up their predictions for the game, and while both feel Buffalo will continue to make improvements over its first two games, neither expert sees the Bills pulling off the upset. Podcast co-host Anthony Marino also gives his thoughts as the Bills look to shock the football world with a win over the reigning NFC North champions. We’re looking for feedback and want to hear from you!2019 NFL Draft prospects that stood out in college football’s opening weekend A penchant for scheduling patty-cake games during the first week of the college football season usually leaves fans disappointed during their Labor Day vacation, but there were at least a few games worth watching this past Saturday. Auburn-Washington and Notre Dame-Michigan may have been low-scoring slugfests, but they were close, right down to the final whistle. Here are the college prospects that stood out on the long weekend.JJ Arcega-Whiteside, WR (Stanford)Dominant. Arcega-Whiteside toyed with the San Diego State secondary on Friday, finishing with six catches for an eye-watering 226 yards and 3 touchdowns. Adept at using his 6’3”, 225 pound frame to box-out defenders, what was more impressive was his subtle breaks on certain routes. It may be to early to say this, but the senior wideout looks like the spitting image of Mike Evans.Steven Montez, QB (Colorado)A dark horse quarterback prospect, Montez has a largely efficient and effective night against a poor Colorado State defense. Montez was surgical in going 22-of-25, for 338 yards and 4 touchdowns. His first touchdown pass was a thing of beauty: launching a perfect deep shot between the cornerback and the single-high safety. Despite the one blemish of a foolish interception thrown into double-coverage, Montez was on point all night. Rodney Anderson, RB (Oklahoma)Mr. Anderson staked his claim to being the best running back in the country against an overmatched Florida Atlantic defense. The junior running back only had 5 rush attempts all day, but ran for 100 yards and 2 TDs. That’s a 20-yard average. Although somewhat tall, Anderson really knows how to bend his knees and sink his hips to present a smaller target for defenders, and his long speed appears to be better than adequate. He’ll be one to track all season.Dontavius Russell, DT (Auburn)What a day for the four-year starter at defensive tackle for the Tigers. Russell is largely overshadowed by fellow lineman Derrick Brown. Against the Huskies though Authentic Tre'Davious White Jersey , it was Russell making the game-changing plays. The senior’s 6’3”, 320 pound frame was too much for Washington’s guards to handle in the run game. Then, on Washington’s final offensive play of the day, Russell attacked the outside shoulder of the guard, burst through the line, pressured Jake Browning and recovered the quarterback’s fumble. Deionte Thompson, Safety (Alabama)Another in a long line of standout Crimson Tide defensive backs, Thompson introduced himself to the nation against Louisville. His interception in the second quarter showed off his soft hands as well as his ability to cover sideline to sideline. The junior also showed that he’s not afraid to pop pads against the run either, even though he’s a bit light at 196 pounds. We now know his name.Te’von Coney, Linebacker (Notre Dame)The Notre Dame-Michigan game became a defensive struggle in the second half, a struggle the Irish won thanks to some key plays by their senior middle linebacker. An A-gap blitz by the Coney caused an interception late in the third quarter, short-circuiting a Michigan drive. Then, on the final play, Coney recovered a Shea Patterson fumble, icing the game. Oh, and he also led the Irish defense with 10 tackles.
